[CONSIDER REVOKING BLANKET PERMISSION TO GET PODFICCERS TO TALK TO YOU (Podfic Platypus) AGAINST YOUR FANNISH ETHICS, AND BESIDES, BEFORE YOU POSTED BLANKET PERMISSION, YOU JUST NEVER GOT PODFICCED]

the platypus is a very shy breed isn’t it
(sorry, making this serious)
Platypus: The reasons for podficcers to be reluctant to talk to authors are probably almost as numerous as podficcers. Some are shy, some forget, some have author-relation trauma, some are wary of giving the authors the impression that the podfic is FOR them when it’s not, some are wary of making the author feel bound to listen and give (positive) feedback, some are still smarting from these threads on anon memes where some fic-writers have explicitly said they have BP to make sure podficcers never ‘bother them’ because they think podfic is ‘creepy’, etc etc etc. None of these reasons are imaginary; experience as well as various authors, through honest discussions and wanky threads alike, have substantiated them all. Probably in time, with trust building and fears fading, it might change some, but that’s where we are now. And some of us probably won’t change our MOs, either. Podficcers, like ficcers and fanartists and reccers & everyone else, are always going to be a diverse crowd made of people with divergent behaviors.
Also, we’re very happy to hear that despite thinking of it briefly you decided against revoking your BP. <3
